But because of the state’s over-reliance on local property taxes to fund schools, Illinois continues to deny too many children the high-quality education necessary to compete in the global economy and succeed in life.
Although a majority of Illinois voters support new revenues to improve school quality and close the achievement gap, our elected officials have failed to take action.
